The Arizona tragedy

The US is still in a state of shock and grief after the killing of six people in broad daylight in the state of Arizona.

In this rare incident, six people lost their lives in a firing incident, including a federal judge, and US congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords is still in a critical condition after a gunman shot her in the head and killed remaining six people.

After this tragic incident, President Obama personally visited the place and observed a moment`s silence to show his grief and to pay tribute to the victims.

President Obama called the attack at a public meeting a tragedy for our nation. US media broadcast special reports and coverage on national TV channels; media personalities are still discussing the real cause of the tragic incident.

US authorities have arrested the 22-year-old man immediately after shooting who belonged to same locality.

They are working hard to examine the internet record of the accused to help determine his motive for the killing.

Such horrific incidents and killings of innocent people have become daily routine in Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iraq. More than 5,000 civilians lost their lives last year alone in Afghanistan and Pakistan. More than 3,000 people have been killed in Iraq in terrorist attacks.
